Corporate and Business Social Responsibility has greatly increased its relevance for our company in recent years. We like to think that year after year the relationship with our employees and internal communication improve within our Group, so we continue to bet on initiatives that promote team leisure time and values aligned with Castrosua. Sports and outdoors at Grupo Castrosua
Outdoor activities are one of the favorite pastimes of #EquipoCastrosua. Therefore, year after year, the most relevant activities are those we carry out in this environment, where our employees enjoy sharing leisure moments and creating synergies with other employees.
One of these activities is our traditional paddle tennis tournament, which last June brought all the fans of this sport within the Castrosua and Carsa workforce to the courts.
Another of the interesting outings is the BTT Castrosua – Carsa, which in 2019 celebrated its sixth edition. For a whole day, employees enjoy the mountains on a route of up to 45 kilometers, starting from our facilities in Vilagarcía, to finish with some fabulous tapas.
Also annually, our Castrosua Team participates in the Foot Race in Santiago de Compostela, another of the most traditional activities within our company, and to end the year, we celebrate an Indoor Football Tournament that pits the different areas of Carsa and Castrosua against each other. 70 employees participated in the last edition!
End of year with family at Grupo Castrosua
At Castrosua, we like to end each year of work with family, celebrating together the milestones and deliveries successfully completed over months of hard work and looking forward to new challenges with enthusiasm and camaraderie.
One of our most traditional and emblematic celebrations is the hot chocolate event that brings the entire Grupo Castrosua family together year after year. From the youngest to the oldest, several generations share hot chocolate with churros, moments, and confessions.
This is a moment of great emotion, as the families of our employees have the opportunity to visit our factories on a day full of excitement that remains in our memories throughout the following year.
Another of the most heartwarming moments of this year occurred during the solidarity meal organized by Castrosua’s own volunteer colleagues, where more than 55 people in need joined us at our Santiago facilities on a very special day full of learning for us.
Celebrating Christmas and the start of a new year at Castrosua
We end 2019 as all good years do, toasting to the year we leave behind and kicking off a new year full of challenges for Grupo Castrosua.
Christmas is one of the most special times of the year and also one that we enjoy the most at Castrosua. The Christmas spirit motivates us and fills us with excitement for both the memories we leave behind and the new year full of opportunities ahead.
For this reason, to commemorate these special dates, many colleagues gather for an annual dinner, which this time was attended by over 450 people.

Awarding of the Grupo Castrosua Awards
As we told you in other posts on this same blog, annually, coinciding in recent occasions with the annual Castrosua dinner, we present the Castrosua awards, promoted by the Internal Communication Team and which celebrated their VI edition this year.
These awards are given by the staff themselves, who vote for their colleagues based on their criteria, according to each awarded category. Below, from the list of candidates, the winner is chosen by a jury composed of members of the owning family of the group and randomly selected personnel.
These awards are divided into two categories: the D. José Castro award for the best colleague and the D. José Manuel Castro award for the best professional. In 2019, the winners of the best colleague award were José Sende Cebey, at Castrosua, and Andrés Rodríguez García at Carsa.
On the other hand, the winners of the D. José Manuel Castro award for the best professional were Carlos Sende García at Castrosua and Juan Alejandro Torres Otero at Carsa, all of them excellent professionals dedicated to offering the best version of themselves in their jobs every day.
Finally, as a culmination to our dinner, the traditional presentation of a watch was made to each of our colleagues who completed 25 years of history at Castrosua.
These are just some of the lines of action with which we aim to improve our CSR and internal communication. We will continue working hand in hand to achieve a company where all members of the Castrosua Team feel integrated and heard in their day-to-day lives.
