Visit of Angel Bernardo Tahoces (INEGA)

Recently, the director of the Galician Energy Institute (INEGA), Angel Bernardo Tahoces, visited our company’s facilities to learn firsthand about the project for the integral replacement of lighting with an LED lighting system.

Last year, our group benefited from one of the aid lines promoted by this department of the Xunta de Galicia’s Ministry of Economy; specifically, the one launched to subsidize energy saving and efficiency projects in companies (belonging to the industrial and service sectors).

With the aid granted, which amounted to more than 95,000 euros (for the Castrosua and Carsa plants), a total of 2,113 luminaires, with an installed power of 205 kW, were replaced in our Castrosua plant, in Santiago, by 1,858 LED luminaires, with an associated power of 54 kW.

On the other hand, in our Carsa plant (in Vilagarcía de Arousa), the action involved the installation of 937 LED luminaires, with an associated power of 31 kW.

Energy Savings

This action has resulted in an annual saving of 386,455 kWh per year in Castrosua and 293,494 kWh/year in Carsa. That is, between 70 and 80% of annual energy savings, with the consequent reduction of CO2 emissions.

Thus, through this renovation of energy supply equipment, our company continues to promote the development of a management model based on sustainability, through energy saving and efficiency.
