Scania BEV Class II with 75 CS Castrosua bodywork is now on the Iberian market

At an event held at the Swedish brand’s facilities in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), Scania and Castrosua have presented the new 100% electric BEV Low Entry Class II.

The new vehicle was already presented at a European level at Busworld, an event held in Brussels last October. Now, customers and media from the Iberian market have had the opportunity to see and test the vehicle firsthand.

The Scania BEV Low Entry Class II is ideal for urban and interurban applications, with 100% electric propulsion with a continuous power of 250 kW at 1750 rpm, reaching a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The exclusive Scania-designed batteries, developed sustainably, are designed and produced in collaboration with Northvolt at Scania’s battery factory in Södertälje (Sweden). These batteries are fast-charging, achieving a full charge in 150 minutes, and are also more sustainable with a lifespan of 1.5 million km.

“Scania’s quality and reliability are reflected in this new chassis. We know that the Scania BEV Class II is a very competitive product that will help our clients in their businesses very efficiently in their various applications. We are very happy to be able to show it directly to our clients and the media so that they can experience firsthand all the features and services we can offer them,” explained Alberto Linares, Commercial Director of Buses, Engines, and Sustainability at Scania Ibérica.

For her part, Beatriz Castro, CEO of Grupo Castrosua, highlighted the work on the new bodywork: “the 75CS is the result of our constant innovation, offering our clients a unique interurban electromobility solution on this occasion. This vehicle reflects our commitment to excellence and sustainability, standing out from its design, new processes, materials, and a different proposal, but without losing Castrosua’s hallmarks such as accessibility, ergonomics, and eco-sustainable solutions. The 75CS has been designed for the comfort not only of the user during the journey but also of the operator in the day-to-day operation.”

Castrosua Bodywork

75CS is the name of the new bodywork launched by Castrosua on its 75th anniversary, on an electric chassis for the commuter segment. This new low entry solution (Class II) is a proposal in line with the high demands of interurban electromobility.

This is the second venture into electromobility, following the launch of Nelec for urban transport. Castrosua is once again venturing with Scania into a new development that will allow a high level of customization and detail to configure exclusive designs for clients. The model is designed for easy access to all mechanical components, simplifying vehicle maintenance. The lightness of the materials used in the bodywork manufacturing contributes to the vehicle’s range, providing sustainable mobility.
