Santiago, January 27, 2016.- The executive director of Grupo Castrosua, Enrique Ulloa, participated this morning in the Vigo Financial Club in the forum Meetings for reindustrialization, promoted by the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of Galicia (ASIME). In his speech, Enrique Ulloa stressed that “as long as industry does not exceed 20% of GDP in Galicia, it will be difficult to create stable employment or wealth”.
Therefore, for the executive director of Castrosua, it is essential to bet on increasing industrialization through a series of measures that could include, for example, the articulation of a Strategic Plan for the Industrial Sector of Galicia, which includes SMEs and universities, or the promotion of collaborative projects between companies and technology centers in R&D&i.
Commitment to sustainability
In parallel, Ulloa presented the most relevant data from Grupo Castrosua, a company specializing in the manufacture of bus and coach bodies based in Santiago de Compostela. Commitment to R&D&i, articulation of alliances with other companies in the sector, and an internationalization vocation constitute the three central pillars of the coach manufacturer’s Strategic Plan, according to the speaker.
In this regard, the executive director of Castrosua highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability by manufacturing environmentally friendly models, often powered by alternative energies to oil, such as compressed natural gas. “Buses and coaches guarantee sustainable and accessible mobility for all citizens and tourists, both in rural and urban areas,” he stressed.
Furthermore, Enrique Ulloa emphasized that “buses and coaches are the most profitable and economical means of transport, due to their cost-benefit ratio”. Thus, according to a European Union study to which the speaker referred, the cost per passenger ratio for coach services is lower than that of any other means of transport for distances between 500 and 1,000 kilometers.
