- Insular Carrocera (Insucar), belonging to the Castrosua Group, is the official service workshop for Gran Canaria for the bodybuilder.
Towards the end of 2018, INSUCAR saw the need to have quality and environmental management systems duly certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards, respectively, in order to bid for maintenance and repair contracts with its institutional clients.
At that time, INSUCAR had already made progress in adapting its activities and facilities, and this certification project was seen as an opportunity to give it a decisive boost.
At the beginning of 2019, it was agreed to contract a consulting firm for technical assistance in the design and implementation of an Integrated Quality and Environmental Management System according to the international standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The work effectively began in the second half of 2019 and continued throughout 2020. The entire management system architecture was designed from scratch, and at the same time, the necessary technical actions were undertaken to adapt the facilities.
Due to various circumstances inherent to the exceptional situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, some fundamental tasks could not be completed until early 2021. The goal was set to carry out the audit in June, and work was done against the clock to provide the management system structure with all the necessary documentation, as well as to prepare the facilities to pass the Environmental audit.
Following the June audit, in July 2021, both of Insucar’s Integrated Management System certifications were obtained, representing an excellent opportunity to advance in the professionalization of INSUCAR and are undoubtedly tools for improvement.
Maintaining the system will be a Herculean task that will require considerable effort from the entire team. We thank all members of INSUCAR here for their great collaboration, involvement, and professionalism shown throughout the process.
