Christmas at Grupo Castrosua is usually filled with emotion, shared time, recreational activities, and solidarity initiatives. To kick off the festivities, the staff members gathered once again at the Hotel Scala in Padrón to enjoy our Christmas lunch, during which the José Castro and José Manuel Castro Awards, as well as the Continuous Improvement Awards, were presented. The lunch took place on December 19th and brought together over 300 people. More information about the lunch can be found by clicking here.
But if there is one activity that is synonymous with Christmas at Castrosua, it is undoubtedly the hot chocolate event, which has been promoted by the company’s Internal Communication Team for some years now. This initiative is aimed at the youngest members of the family and brought together 120 people at the company’s facilities in Santiago and over 100 at those in Villagarcía. Our children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or godchildren were able to enjoy delicious hot chocolate with churros and, incidentally, get to know the environment in which we carry out our professional activities.
The Grupo Castrosua Drawing Contest was also aimed at children. This competition invited the youngest ones to create Christmas-themed postcards in which the bus played a leading role. There are three prize categories: one for children between 2 and 4 years old, a second for those between 5 and 7 years old, and finally, a third for those aged between 8 and 10 years old. The members of the Internal Communication Team act as the jury and we distributed the toys to the winners, whose identities were revealed on the day of the hot chocolate event.
Through solidarity initiatives, the company’s human team can showcase our most altruistic side. In this regard, one of our most emblematic actions, the toy and food drive for disadvantaged groups, has once again been a great success. Since December 1st, we have all been able to contribute to this initiative by donating toys for the little ones and non-perishable food items, both at Castrosua’s facilities in Santiago and at Carsa’s in Vilagarcía.
And to further spread the Christmas spirit to all the company’s employees, this year we wanted them to be the stars of Grupo Castrosua’s corporate Christmas greeting. Thus, a part of the company’s staff participated in the initiative, posing with a letter each. The resulting final composition allowed the phrase to be read: Merry Christmas from the entire Castrosua team! Undoubtedly, an original collage that will remain in the memory of all those who received our card this holiday season.
