Grupo Castrosua will deliver 49 units to Moventis to operate in the CTM of TIB Mallorca, for which it has been awarded along with two other operators. Moventis’ commitment to TIB has led it to renew 54 vehicles, 5 hybrid and the remaining 49 natural gas, all with Castrosua bodywork on Scania Hispania chassis. In this vehicle renewal, GNC propulsion has predominated, thus Moventis reinforces its commitment to the environment and sustainable road transport.
Moventis is currently one of the most recognized urban and interurban transport operators with the widest geographical coverage in Catalonia, ensuring people’s mobility in the collective sphere by connecting many cities. It also operates, together with other partners, other types of tourist or leisure services.
For the 49 GNC vehicles for the Balearic Islands, Moventis has relied on the Magnus.E bodywork for medium-distance operation; Of the total vehicles, 6 units are high-floor with luggage racks and measure 13 meters, and the remaining 43 units are low-entry, of which 23 are 13 meters and 20 are articulated 18 meters.
The vehicles incorporate the latest generation improvements and technologies, including the Mobileye system for accident prevention, with intelligent cameras and vision sensors; up to three interior screens for user information; five security cameras with video recording; anti-vandal security partition; 16 USB ports; and a system for transporting two bicycles inside the bus. They also include one of the most avant-garde safety and energy-saving packages, integrating up to 15 different systems such as lane change warning, emergency braking, fatigue detector, traffic sign reader, and alcoholock, which only allows the bus to start if the driver is below the permitted alcohol limit; as well as a defibrillator inside the bus.
Likewise, all buses will be adapted for people with reduced mobility – with a ramp or lifting platform – to further facilitate and guarantee access for wheelchairs and strollers. Interior signage will also be reinforced with screens and public address systems so that people with visual or hearing impairments can know at all times the next stop on the route, as well as other relevant service information.
