Grupo Castrosua presents its latest launch to the market: a new coach that combines the spaciousness and comfort of a large coach with an agile and versatile format. This model, named HERO, is available for all types of propulsion —this first one in an electric version— has been designed to meet the real needs of operators in medium and long-distance services, school and interurban transport, as it can also be approved for Class II.
With a capacity of up to 71 passengers plus driver and guide, the new vehicle stands out for its versatility. It is available in two lengths, 13 and 15 meters, and has a height of 3.68 meters. This first unit, the result of the agreement established in 2023 by both companies, is manufactured on a VOLVO BZR chassis.
A design with its own stamp
The exterior reflects a robust and minimalist style, with aerodynamic lines that favor efficiency. Details include Full LED headlights, a continuous floor from front to back that facilitates accessibility, and the possibility of adapting the interior space to incorporate seats for reduced mobility. HERO offers different rear door configurations —including options with a lifting platform— making it a flexible solution for all types of services.
Local eco-sustainable materials, along with a lightweight and resistant body, improve autonomy and reduce consumption in any propulsion.
Cutting-edge safety and comfort
The new coach comes standard with the latest generation ADAS technology to avoid blind spots, multiple vision cameras, cameras instead of rearview mirrors, an integrated alcohol interlock, and seats with seatbelts in all positions. Its interior design focuses on the travel experience: reclining seats, premium configurable climate control with the latest generation systems, full connectivity with USB ports at each seat, advanced multimedia systems, and differentiating details such as a 40-liter refrigerator, a bottle cooler for the driver, and adjustable cabin lighting.
The driving position has been designed to offer maximum comfort and safety, with a high-end heated and ventilated seat, a dashboard with integrated lighting, ample visibility thanks to a large electric window, and assistance cameras that facilitate maneuvers.

This collaboration between Castrosua and Volvo, signed in 2023 with the aim of promoting energy efficiency, safety, and innovation in urban buses, is reinforced with this launch, making the leap to the long-distance segment.
The Volvo BZR Electric chassis is a platform of excellent versatility, designed to adapt to a wide range of applications: from urban traffic and commuter services to interurban transport, school buses, and long-distance travel. It offers dual charging options: up to 250 kW via cable and up to 450 kW with the OppCharge system. Along with lightweight and resistant suspension and a smooth and quiet powertrain, they meet the requirements for a safe, stable, and comfortable journey on any route.
