  • For this reason, Carlos Gustavo García has joined the team as the group’s Director of Innovation.

At Grupo Castrosua, we are aware that 21st-century mobility has embarked on a one-way journey where offering a global service is paramount. This involves continuing with a demanding product and remaining an integral part of the final ecosystem with an attractive value proposition for the market. Therefore, we aim to address this transition from three fundamental pillars: sustainability, digitalization, and user experience. Based on these core principles, our strategic lines have been modeled with the objective of fostering a constantly evolving ecosystem.

Aware that this is the moment to face new challenges in the area of innovation and continuous improvement, we have designed a corporate strategic plan that also incorporates intrapreneurship and open innovation, which will soon lead to the presentation of new projects.

To meet the magnitude of the challenge undertaken, Grupo Castrosua has appointed Carlos Gustavo García as Director of Innovation to lead the strategy that will allow us to remain a national benchmark in this new mobility scenario. His incorporation will be key to successfully facing the technological and cultural transformation that the sector is undergoing, and to which Castrosua has contributed quality and solvency in service of its clients for 75 years.

Carlos Gustavo has 22 years of international experience in business innovation, corporate strategy, and project management. A civil engineer and transport master by profession, Carlos Gustavo is an expert in co-creating and managing heterogeneous, multidisciplinary open innovation ecosystems, as he did previously at the helm of the multinational Acciona Ingeniería, the consultancy Inse Rail, or the technology startup TheFunLab, among others. Among the innovation projects he has led are 3DBRIDGE, the world’s first 3D-printed concrete walkway; the HAMMER project, awarded by the European Union in 2019 as one of the most promising innovative railway projects in the industry through the EU GATEWAY Business Avenues program; and the HYPERSTROOCT project, which technologically advances the state of the art of hyperloop system infrastructure. Carlos Gustavo is also a co-founder of the talent and innovation community Mornings4, a meeting point for civil society change agents around Industry 4.0, as well as a professor at IE Business School, where he teaches Disruptive Strategies in the World, and at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the University of Cantabria, where he teaches Business Innovation.

Castrosua has consistently committed to innovation since its inception through continuous improvement in its products and processes, and with this new appointment, we aim to continue driving this area from new frontiers.

Tengo el honor de haber sido su primer jefe en los comienzos de su vida profesional en Alcatel. Por poco tiempo, enseguida me lo robaron para otras funciones.
Una gran persona, un gran profesional, un gran amigo.
