- The agreement, signed with Group Iran and the company Khadamat Tejarat Almas Nile, was ratified within the framework of the business mission to the Islamic Republic of Iran, promoted by the Government of Spain
Santiago de Compostela, September 7, 2015.- The president of Grupo Castrosua, Juan Luis Castro, signed a contract this Monday in Tehran that will allow the bodywork manufacturer to initially distribute 300 buses in this Middle Eastern country. The agreement reached with Group Iran and the company Khadamat Tejarat Almas Nile, in collaboration with the consultancy firm Clairfield International, was ratified within the framework of the business trip to Iran promoted by the Government of Spain and led by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Development.
The signing of the contract, whose global value exceeds 50 million euros, was supported by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Iran, Mohsen Jalalpour. With this operation, the Galician bodywork manufacturer consolidates its market diversification strategy, with an international vocation, which it outlined some years ago and which has already allowed it, for example, to export part of its production to EU countries.
Iran’s fleet of buses and coaches has aged as a consequence of the embargo suffered by the country in recent years and the precarious situation of its national manufacturers. In this context, Grupo Castrosua has committed to homologating its bodyworks to the standards of this country, thus being in the best possible position to start the mass production and distribution of vehicles for Iran.
