The facilities of the Feria Internacional de Galicia ABANCA hosted this Friday, November 9, within the framework of Expobus Iberia, the celebration of Castrosua’s 70th anniversary. On this occasion, they took the opportunity to honor D. José Castro Suárez, founder of the company, with the presentation of a plaque by the President of the Xunta de Galicia, D. Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
Juan Luis Castro, president of Castrosua, highlighted not only the figure of D. José Castro, but also the fundamental role of all the people who, over the years, have formed the great family of the Castrosua workforce.
In this regard, the President of the Xunta witnessed, at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of this leading company in Galicia, a review of its history, from its beginnings as a company in the 1940s, where Castrosua’s two main qualities were highlighted: innovation and social responsibility.
Castrosua’s history evolved with its establishment in Vilagarcía de Arousa in the 1950s, and shortly thereafter, in the 1960s, it opened a 5,000 m2 production plant to provide adequate service for large Pegaso orders.
The history of Grupo Castrosua continues to the present day with the four companies that form its business group: Castrosua, Carsa, Cidsa, and Insucar, having overcome difficulties thanks to a firm belief in its values.
Similarly, the importance of these values was evident with the screening of an emotional documentary produced by the company itself, in which they honored D. José Castro and remembered figures who played a vital role in the company, such as José Manuel Castro, former CEO, who passed away in 2007.
The celebration of this 70th anniversary was broadcast live by Castrosua through its Facebook page. Thanks to this, its staff could follow the event live and even had the opportunity to greet the honorary president of Castrosua, D. José Castro, from the factories themselves.
Castrosua looks to the future with the aim of continuing to improve and offering eco-sustainable solutions to the market. As a benchmark in Spain, its international vocation reinforces its spirit of efficiently contributing to the road passenger transport sector. Today, its 70 years are celebrated with the clear desire for many more to come.
