Grupo Castrosua and Yutong sign a letter of intent to collaborate on the development and manufacturing of electric buses for the European market

Grupo Castrosua, a Spanish manufacturer of mobility solutions, and Yutong have signed a letter of intent (LOI) expressing their mutual interest in establishing a strategic collaboration for the development, production, and commercialization of 100% electric buses for the European market. This step marks the beginning of discussions between both companies and represents a significant milestone in the company’s strategy.

The LOI contemplates the potential integration of Yutong’s electric technology, which boasts extensive experience and global leadership in electromobility, with Grupo Castrosua’s technological, lightweight, and innovative bodywork, adapted to the technical and quality requirements of the European market. This combination is expected to yield vehicles optimized for continental operators in terms of efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.

“This letter of intent with Yutong represents a new milestone for Grupo Castrosua,” states Juan Luis Castro, president of Grupo Castrosua. “We are very proud to begin exploring this collaboration with one of the global leaders in electromobility. Together, we aim to develop solutions that combine the most advanced electric technology with the knowledge and experience in developing mobility proposals for the European market.”

The agreement between Grupo Castrosua and Yutong covers ongoing technical and commercial discussions regarding engineering, design, and production, as well as the future adaptation of vehicles to European safety, quality, and sustainability regulations, subject to the formalization of a definitive agreement.
