CIDSA, in its role as a driver for the incorporation of technology and design of highly complex automotive components for the Castrosua Group, has been a beneficiary of aid within the program for projects that promote and strengthen the transition to the electric vehicle value chain and the decarbonization of the automotive sector in Galicia, co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 program, for the Xylobus project: *Design and development of a new solution for the formation of interior panels for public transport vehicles based on wood, textile fibers, and bioresins, with expediente number IG300J-2025-000-000008* which has received a subsidy of 50% for the amount of €192,930.36, co-financed at 60% by the European Union within the framework of the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 Program. The project will be executed between 03/25/2025 and 10/31/2026
CIDSA, with the project, aims to achieve a specific and very ambitious general technical objective:
Design and develop a new organic and biodegradable biomaterial, 100% adapted to the requirements of interior panels for buses, which allows the inclusion of zero environmental impact materials in passenger transport vehicles through optimized manufacturing techniques.
The project focuses on the development of new biomaterials with three main objectives:
–Reduce vehicle weight.
–Reduce environmental impact.
–Improve passenger safety.
The project, through the aforementioned objectives, presents a clear innovative character in two different lines:
–New materials
–Manufacturing processes
By achieving the proposed objectives, real-world implementation of parts manufactured with the studied biomaterials, using environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, will be reached.
