In July 2025, IGAPE confirmed to CIDSA the favorable resolution for File IG300J-2025-000-000008 of the R&D&I Project XYLOBUS, within the typology of Experimental Development Projects of the procedure “IG300J Electric Vehicle and Decarbonization of the Automotive Sector in Galicia version 2025” co-financed by 60% by the European Union within the framework of the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 Program.
The XYLOBUS project addresses the revolution of new mobility through the incorporation of advanced biomaterials and innovative structural designs in transport vehicles, seeking to maximize sustainability, safety, and mechanical performance.
For the execution of this experimental development project, CIDSA collaborates with TXIRBIL, seeking mutual technological transfer from their knowledge in biomaterials to our knowledge in collective passenger transport, allowing us to develop a family of materials with real and direct application in our vehicles.
In the project, TXIRBIL assumes the research of the material family, while CIDSA establishes both the requirements, prescriptive properties, and the transformation of Txirbil’s existing manufacturing techniques into an operation suitable for the bodywork world.
The scope of the project includes, among other aspects, the meticulous conceptual definition of the requirements that materials must meet, considering not only current regulations and quality standards but also the new technological and ecological challenges of the collective transport sector. It also addresses the development, characterization, and refinement of latest-generation biocomposites as alternatives to traditional materials. Finally, it includes the refinement and validation of the developed material in a prototype.
During the research development, extensive testing campaigns will be carried out, analyzing resistance, dimensional stability, impact behavior, and durability against environmental factors. These processes allow for the validation of the developed material, ensuring its exceptional performance under real operating conditions.
Finally, the XYLOBUS project articulates strategic alliances between leading companies in the sector, technology centers, and innovation experts. XYLOBUS represents a new era for collective transport, where technology, sustainability, and safety advance hand in hand to offer intelligent solutions for the future of urban and interurban mobility.

Disponen de una rueda en la parte central, y esa es la que gira una parte del autobús, con la otra. Eje directriz sigue siendo el primero, y el motriz el último. No es complicado de entender.
PD: Me encanta la foto del Belizón y Rodríguez. Ojalá volvieran a tener articulados, al menos para las líneas más demandadas. Fue el primero en el que me subí.
