Many of the vehicles we deliver each year from Grupo Castrosua to different operators are approved for school transport and, therefore, their technical aspects must be governed by the legislation of the Government of Spain, which regulates safety conditions in school transport (http://www.fomento.gob.es/MFOM/LANG_CASTELLANO/DIRECCIONES_GENERALES/TRANSPORTE_TERRESTRE/_INFORMACION/NORMATIVA/listadoTransporteEscolar.htm). Current legislation in our country sets out aspects as relevant as the maximum age of the vehicles, the technical characteristics they must possess, or the rules for their inspection.

Current regulations
Among other matters, the regulations establish that vehicles cannot be more than 16 years old and that school transport vehicles must be marked with the school transport indicator (both at the front and rear of the vehicles). In addition, the vehicle’s documentation must state that it has passed the annual technical inspection if it is less than 5 years old, and semi-annually if it exceeds that age.
Seats located in the first row or those not protected by a backrest must have protective bulkheads, and if they are occupied by children up to 11 years old, they must have three-point seat belts. In parallel, the bus used for school transport services must have spaces for people with disabilities, and the floor must be non-slip. Finally, the doors must be equipped with handrails to facilitate boarding and alighting the vehicle.
